Personally I do not think that light does anything for the room. I think you can find something better than that. You could still go with the black tone if you wanted to but I would also consider the stainless steel look that you have going with your appliances.
Sorry, don't think it fits, The prongs on the light give it a more circular shape but you have this over a beautiful oblong bench. Always rectangular or oblong over rectangular. And the dark ends of the bulbs will create shadows, not so good in a work space. Used to work in lighting for a few years and it always comes down to what makes you happy. I would have tried to steer you in a different direction, Hope this helps.
We recently did the below pendant over a kitchen bench which was something a bit unique and has the ability to be changed in the future easily. Something like that could suit your application? You can still use the central cable location.
