Personally I think the curtain colour is fine, but your header tape needs attention and for me I'd have them taken up so they hang to the floor rather than on the floor. If your hubby is handy maybe get him to make u a box over the curtain header & stain/paint it to match your furniture. Or put up a pole in matching wood.

Hey there! You probably should've checked on what colour would've best suited your carpet colour and wooden bed before buying them, but unless you want to get a refund and further delay the curtains, maybe it'd be an idea to deal with the colour that you chose.

Hi Rochelle, because you've gone with all natural tones, any strong colour just stands out too much and never looks quite right. Ditch the red. I think your idea of plants is a good one. Green works in with that natural pallette well. Get a lush green pot plant for your coffee table and maybe a bigger plant in a high pot that can stand on the ground. Buy a good sized, beautiful print of natural landscape and hang it on the best wall (instead of what you have). Get some funky cushions that work with the print and buy one of those luxurious fake fur throws in a colour similar to your mat. This will add more softness and texture to the room. Personally , I wouldn't use that wallpaper -- it doesn't suit the apartment style IMO . I assume she wanted to add some focus and colour , but to me it doesn't work . To make it work ( or at least not 'jar' ) if she does insist on the wallpaper , pick out the burgundy or red of the wattle flower ( or whatever it is ) , and do a wall opposite it in that exact same shade , or maybe the kitchen area if you have good masking skills . The animal skin rugs look great , but the couch is 'lost' -- add cushions in the same red or burgundy as the wall , or go even brighter red or burgundy . Rest of the walls can be left as they are ( depending on wall condition ) or any similar neutral ( aka bland ) grey or cream , or possibly even a light steel blue .
