I have already picked up my granite( light brown fantasy), my kitchen cabinets will be Dove white Maple shaker, and my mosaic tile.
I'm having confusion over how to do the mosaic tile do I put it all the way up the wall(s)??
if I do , wont that be too busy looking?
do I only put a border of it and the rest transparent white Subway tiles?
any advice would help thank you!

Do not mix the tiles..pick one..the glass bevelved would look beautiful alone! the two completely different tiles will not be a good mix....

I would suggest you take out the cabinet that is to the right of the stove and use it elsewhere in the house -- perhaps in the bathroom or dining room with a hutch above it. Then, I would suggest you have someone install a lazy susan cabinet in the corner between the sink counter and the stove, meaning you would move the stove down a bit and have a small cabinet/counter top to the right of the stove. I would suggest you have the cabinets refinished in white and then paint the walls a pastel you like. If you would prefer white walls, then add white-painted crown molding and paint the ceiling a light neutral blue, such as Sherwin Williams Niagara Falls Blue. Then, I would suggest you choose a favorite accent color and use this sparingly in accessories like towels, pot holders, small vases or floral arrangements, and a valence above the triple windows. For a genuine 1940s look, you might have white ceramic square tiles with a rectangular red border installed as a back splash behind and above the stove. If you are replacing counter tops, I would suggest a light color such as white with a beige or light grey vein or striation for some sort of pattern. You might be able to find the same color and design in floor tile OR opt for a wood floor as another poster suggested.

I would consider something light with some other colors to mix in like this. http://t.homedepot.com/p/Silestone-2-in-Quartz-Countertop-Sample-in-Mont-Blanc-SS-Q0220/203674451/ I like the wood paneling and would paint it a white with a warm feel to it. A white will reflect a lot of light from your large window. I wouldn't paint the window casing as it might tie in better with the rest of the house. Good luck!!

Your suggestions are really greatly appreciated. My town house unit is under complete exterior re-cladding works, prompting quite substantial interior makeover (i.e installtion of ducted air con, replacing wall to wall carpet with timber upstairs, and tiles in open space downstaris, replacing creamy wall paper will be replaced with neutral white paint. So my green kitchen with creamy formica counter (bench) top should go. I don't hate green simply had egounh of it after long 15 yeras! My small U shape kitchen is due for complete makeover, I think! I'll probably go with new cabinets (lower one for microwave) up to the ceiling, when move fridge at the end I'll go with panel with matching colour up to the ceiling, expanding counter top on the other side to the fridge. I guess that removal of the cupboard can be compesated with extension of the counter top so we can fit 3x drawer underneath and cabinets up to the ceiling can provide some useful storage space. Backsplash in same white palette or darker in contrast? Your kind ideas please!

Fantasy brown granite has lots of movement so it depends if you want some contrast or let the eyes rest. Do not mix those tiles either one or the other. Or you can pick an area to do an accent with the coloured tile only and use the other white glass tile everywhere else. Also entirely depends on your kitchen layout and the look you want

Let the countertop be the star. Just say No to mosaic tile - way too busy a look.

My 2 cents . . . Your granite is already heavily patterned and will make a statement all by itself. My advice, let your counter be the star and pick a uniform, solid color back splash to play a quiet, supporting role. There's only room for one Diva in the mix and the granite has that job. It doesn't need the competition. Think of it like choosing a blouse to go with a heavily patterned skirt. Would you also choose a heavily patterned blouse as well? Probably not. Its the same with a counters and a back splash.

Fantasy brown looks beautiful when you let it speak for itself. Choose a single tile. Mosaic tile would make your kitchen look too busy.

Pick the backsplash after installation on your granite and cabinets.

Also after your counters are in - put your backsplash options next to the granite and cupboards and then step back - it’s too hard to tell close up with no perspective. Post a picture for advice.

You need something simple to go with the granite in your photos.

Stacy, I agree with the others and stay simple but I would do a larger subway tile, the ones you picked as samples seem way too small.

Personally I would not use different tiles, you have a wonderful granite bench so let it shine by itself and use the glass subway tiles above.

thank you everyone for all your input and photos I'm going to go with the larger subway tile maybe a frosted White to let the granite stand on its own..
I have to pick it now because the guy is putting my cabinets in are also doing the backsplash
oh yeah and while this is going on, I'm trying to sell my mom's place moving furniture out of there .
and cleaning up sewer water in my basement!
