Looking for advice on window treatment
Comments (3)Top down bottom up blinds? They come with an aluminum coating too (to block sunlight and thus heat). In our bedroom we installed 2 roller blinds on top of eachother. Both white. One translucent for privacy and one to darken the room. It was cheaper that the dual layered (cellular) blinds and I did not want foil. Not sure if you'd have the space for that (we insulated the walls from the inside, so our window frames are quite deep)....See MoreCurb appeal indecision... advice please!
Comments (91)Sorry I am so late coming to your site - you are an inspiration to all, homeowners and advisers alike. For your planting advice, I suggest you call Merrifield Garden Center to see if they will come out your way. They currently have wonderful garden centers in Merrifield and Fairfax (both in Fairfax County) and a new one in Gainesville, but they may come further south to wherever you reside. (www.MerrifieldGardenCenter.com) Even if they don't send designers to your area, they are worth a trip to see their huge selection for a day of pleasure and inspiration, or to pick up some plants. Most of my clients are in the Fairfax and greater Washington area, but I am currently living out west below Front Royal, VA on the Shenandoah mountainside - wonderful views. cascio.offsite@gmail.com...See MoreI need advice on window coverings
Comments (3)Hi, Both comments above are what I would do. A Roman blind in the same fabric as your main window will tie the two different windows. See the picture, where I had a small window in an awkward space in the dining room, next to a large window. Keeping the same fabric helps continuity where the windows are vastly different sizes....See MoreBathroom Layout - advice please
Comments (2)Sorry the main bathroom (beside the lounge area). I have the ensuite sorted. We'd like a bath in the main bathroom, shower, toilet and vanity. Ideally I don't want the toilet on the wall that separates the bathroom and lounge....bit uncomfortable for guests going loo when we are in the lounge watching TV!...See More- 8 years ago
