On the dresser I have like this, I painted it crisp white. The top middle drawer was removed and the interior painted an accent color. Of course, some great new hardware. Also, you can alternate (the full sized drawers) in a different color from the base color or paint all the drawers the same color but slightly different from the base color.

And the seating areas are different, don't try to make it look like one area. I would put minimal ( if any) teal around the black sofa. Do your dining room. Then give you living room the same respect, it is it's own space

Sorry for the delay....well I still haven't quite got to the floor yet. I have friends and family advising that black would show up every bit of dust etc and one friend who had a shiny black floor and felt that she was forever mopping, and if the light shone on the floor on the wrong angle you could see where the mop had been. I think this would frustrate me too much especially with young children and a cat so I think a whitewash look could be a good option, or reclaimed battered timber perhaps.......see why I haven't chosen the floor yet. Lol. You could always go a black but a weathered matt reclaimed timber that could look good too. Good luck!

The all black kitchen looks scary as. Maybe because there's no lightness in there at all.
