Prior to hiring: Better Business Bureau has a very informative website about what to look out for and lists companies as well.

Post job/issues: submission to BBB and taking to small claims court, based on not fulfilling the contract.

I guess without knowing whay you are asking that above is all good advice. IMO the first thing to do is check references and if possible see the work. Yes the BBB is agood place to check but not all pissed of clients bother reporting.

Hi Stephanie, The person I was working with that will not return deposit is Jennifer Michelle LLC owned by Jennifer Michelle Helm.

I placed an order on 8/1/21 for a display cabinet around $900. I was told they cannot get it in and will refund my money as a result on 11/10/21. It is now 1/31/22 a total of six months has gone by and my money is not refunded, I keep being promised by Jennifer Michele that she will follow through and nothing has been done-she doesn't even keep in touch. I've never dealt with a business like this and it's very disheartening. All I want is her to follow through with the refund so I can move on with my life, it's maddening and not the way a company should do business. BUYER BEWARE as stated above!!!

I purchased a King size bed and two nightstands custom ordered for over $8,000 back in June 2021, from Jennifer Michele and JM Home. When I received a notice to review my purchase in October of last year, I contacted Jennifer Michele and her company repeatedly to check on the status of the order. She was always evasive and assured me she would get back with me. She never did. She never once indicated the delay was due to COVID. Although she agreed to refund me a partial refund on the orders, I never received a refund. The credit card refund through Spotify and PayPal never cleared. I reported her to the ********** Attorney General who investigated. She reported she refunded me, but I have yet to receive any refund from this apparent scam artist. She has not responded to my further inquiries. I simply want a refund on what she agreed to. Beware of JM Home and Jennifer Michele LLC.

This person rebranded herself from previous business, Sage Interiors, she stole money from multiple people. She took my money saying she was ordering furniture and never ordered it. I had to file a lawsuit. She is a criminal. Please, do not do business with her.

It sucks but there are so many dishonest people in the trades it seems twice as bad during covid for some reason.

Do your due diligence. Check licenses and insurance. Check the business address. Don’t believe the internet about anything good, or bad. Like the sock puppets above.
