Which white????

Hi all,

I'm deciding on which white to paint the interior of my new home, aaaghhhh!

Is Dulux Lexicon Quarter too bright to have with a tan leather sofa? Windows are black.

I tested Casper half but it seems too creamy. Thanks!

My go to is always Dulux Snowy Mountains.

I’ve always been a Dulux Natural white fan but for an upcoming repaint of a new house I’ll be going with Dulux Snowy Mountains half. I’ve had it coloured matched to a fabric (blind) sample. Although to the naked eye there’s not a lot of difference between the two on the samples. I find Lexicon in any strength too stark on walls but plenty of people have it.

And the seating areas are different, don't try to make it look like one area. I would put minimal ( if any) teal around the black sofa. Do your dining room. Then give you living room the same respect, it is it's own space

The first thing I would do is switch your light fixture to track lighting. That way you can focus the light onto that wall much like what is done in an art gallery. I also think that may stop the reflection you are getting. I think putting cabinets on the long wall will really close in the space. I would make your red wall your gallery wall. I'd frame everything in white so they "pop" off the wall. The problem with the other wall being the gallery wall is that it's just to narrow. You can't really stand back far enough to see the art.

I think the spanish white in gloss will accomplish what you're trying to do in the room (i.e. make it look warm). The colour will go good with all of the other colours in the room. What did you decide to do?

You are so right white is never out of fashion. I would set your budget and then look at your options. If you plan to stay in the house for many years then spend to the top of your budget (if that is going to give you a life time of pleasure), if you plan on being at the home for only a short time / few years then I would go mid range so it looks lovely, will have good resale value but you can invest your well earned money to go towards something else as well. Obviously Marble / Granite is the top of the range but there are so many cheaper and very attractive options these days that look just as good.

Thanks, I've just painted the outside with snowy mountains half and I'm really pleased. 😁

I painted our house in Casper Quarter and it’s not creamy at all.

I have lexicon quarter walls with a tan leather sofa and it looks great. Have also used snowy mountains half several times and it always looks good, it is definitely a softer white than lexicon quarter.

Which white????
