Sadly - even with the help of an interior designer - who in hindsight was not good sadly - my paint colour isn't right. The living room and downstairs hallway has been done in a pale grey blue. The painter will come back on 16 June to finish the stairwell wall and upstairs hallways (was peachy colour as shown in first pic). So - the question is do I double down with the same pale blue colour or dilute it to a 1/8 (current colour is a 1/4) or try and choose another colour that is perhaps more blue with no lilac. Don't honestly think I can go through repainting the living room and hallway downstairs anytime soon. The wall on the other side of the hallway stairwell going up is a huge wall, as is the other side of the stairwell - then hallways upstairs. I don't know even how I came to this pale blue grey colour to be honest. It's not right at all and gulp it throws some lilac. It's a pretty colour but not right for the house or the furnishings. The carpet ended up being too dark. It's not hideous - I don't hate it - but I do realise it's not right. In the hallway at the front it's not too bad - shows pale blue - but the living room has parts that look lilac - sigh. I will change the lightbulbs to see if that helps too. Any advice on whether to double-down with the same colour up the stairwell and upstairs hallway - whether to dilute the colour from a 1/4 to an 1/8 or try another tone or something - most welcome. I wish I'd gone with a really pale sage green - which is my favourite and what I have in my apartment in the US but I was told it was too much green. Sigh - now it's too much blue with lilac. I just didn't want to do white as I like colour - but this colour, though a pretty colour, isn't right - in my opinion. The couches will be recovered/changed in due course. I suppose the safest thing to do is to either keep it the same to match the pillar up the wall or possibly go to and 1/8 instead of 1/4 so same tone - but then it might throw too white with lilac. Any advice welcome. Thank you.
