Unfitted kitchen

last year

We’re about to completely gut our kitchen and I’d love to replace it with an unfitted style. I know exactly what I want and how I’d like it to feel, but I’m not confident in pulling all the design elements together. Would an Interior Decorator be the right person to help with this? I’ve been looking into decorators, but so far I haven’t come across anyone whose work matches my vision. Their kitchens are stunning—but they’re all fitted, which isn’t the look we’re going for.

Hi Renata, I would suggest you talk to an experienced Kitchen Designer - Manufacturer that does Bespoke work. They will be able to work with your ideas as well as bring your Unfitted style all together to ensure a Functional Kitchen design.

    Hope this helps, Malcolm

Early Settler have a range of unfitted kitchen pieces. They look good but not cheap. Were you planning on using what you have or collecting new or antique pieces. Do you have any inspiration pics to share?

The house was built in 1918 and was the general store hence the serving window in 3rd picture.

The curtained window faces North and there is nothing blocking sun.

The pantry in 3rd photo has the blackboard on it and the 4th photo is to show how the pantry is at an angle.

The wall behind sink and oven/stovetop covers the original brick wall.

You have a fairly tight space to work with. I’d consider a hybrid with fitted cabinets around the perimeter with an unfitted island and dresser.

Hello Renata, I think this is a fascinating project and one the likes of which I have not worked on before. As a kitchen and home designer I can assist with plans of what you have and what you want. With the help of your dream kitchen pictures, we can put together the dream in your home! The plans will assist you with pricing from cabinet makers, sizing of pieces for specific places and picking up bargains of furniture for the room. I invite you to look over my website, tho these is nothing like it in my past works so would love to add your finished room to my portfolio! Cheers Margot

Unfitted kitchens are such a beautiful choice! Maybe look for a kitchen designer or stylist who specializes in bespoke, eclectic spaces rather than standard fitted designs.
