This was the image first driving the overall design with Liz and I initially. It does hold up pretty well now too.
Maybe except for over decks and at front door, we could just go with hardy board in vertical orientation and paint it a different color-- like the tall, middle section of this image?

This was another image driving our initial look.

Another image which drove the design initially. Again, creams, black and modern.

MY FAVORITE! Not materials necessarily, but color tones. This is pretty. Brown is not as heavy as other one, blends with the cream better. Example with black windows. =)

Image not regarding color; regarding material.
I had an idea for the north side of new kitchen... what about using the corrugated material Vanessa's house has on exterior?
This house shows how that would interact with Hardy board. Use the 'view more images from this project to see other views.

Gray and cream.

SAME #3: Example of wood with horizontal hardy board and pop-out a different color.
I don't find the siding color too bad here either.

Example of dark color up at clerestory windows. i''m not sure still?

Not a bad off-white /cream. Image shows how my black details (from windows and gutters) might look.

Image reminds me to ask: Are we covering all the gluelam beams? I mean will they be hidden from view?
They could be a design element like shown here?
Q
Photo
Example of pop-out section being different color.
Not bad.
Q

haha. Comic relief! =)

SAME #2: Cream manages to look happy with black details.
I can see here how the wood does break things up.
Q
Photo
SAME #2: Same house as previous. Interesting to remember that exterior color (unless we paint north and south differently) will be seen from afar. The black details do disappear from a distance
Q
Photo
Another example of the wood accent.
This is a more muted color, not bad.
Q

Nice imagining example with newer house and oak forest. =)
Q

I digress... pretty stairs. =)
Q

Green tint, garden, wood panels... hum?
Q
Photo
SAME #1- Something like this would disappear into the wood from a distance. The all black section with deck on top is interesting. Hum...

SAME #1- Same Lake house... I digress. But nice interior. I like how they brought the exterior color inside on left wall.... color to dark, but connection is good.

More comic release. Wowza!

Here, they make the statement with differing size of siding. Would that be option with kitchen segment? Go with smaller hardy board?
PS- Not color per say here, just form.
Q
Photo
Hum... cream with dark stain look.
Image looks a little top heavy with white below. Haha
Q
Photo
That's a friendly color. But house doesn't have black windows, roof and gutters. Obviously siding is different.
Q
Photo
Cream with vertical boarding. Not sure if too monochromatic?
Q
Photo
Pretty good representation of cream with black windows.
Q

Nice rich tan/golden color, Yeah, I need to find more modern example. LOL.

I don't mind this green so much. But maybe it works because of the white trim? Obviously, not my house style. LOL.
