This is the coolest fountain I have seen so far.

This small rain garden collects the runoff from a garage roof and directs it away from the house.
Disconnecting roof downspouts keeps clean roof runoff out of the sewer system. Rain chains both manage and celebrate rainfall and provide visual interest, even during periods of light rain. Here, a rock-lined channel moves the water from the house to the rain garden.
A self-sustaining meadow is the ultimate natural and low-maintenance garden. Before going crazy with wild grasses and flowers, plant a thick ground cover, since it prevents weed growth. But be sure to start the ground cover in weed-free soil first; otherwise, the plant will have to compete while it's adjusting to its new home. In the late fall, after the flowers and grasses have spread their seeds, the meadow can usually be mowed down entirely, allowing it to grow back throughout the following year. Don't forget to compost!

This combination of stone-shaped seating over meandering artificial grass is a real art installation and could be found at any modern art gallery. Surely this must be one of the most maintenance-free gardens you could design, but it still has such great visual appeal.

If you want an Italian-style patio of your own, grow tall shrubs — such as yew or privet — near a fence or a garden trellis to create some privacy from your neighbors. Use black iron furniture, and if you can, splurge on a white marble or stone top table. Accessorize with plain white seat cushions and a white umbrella to keep the look simple and classic. Add some warm terra-cotta planters with bright flowers like geraniums for color. Use a single color such as pink, red or white so they don't overwhelm the space. If you want to add table linens, use crisp whites.

Planting succulents vertically is a great way to add interest to outdoor walls. You can purchase premade boxes, like these, in a variety of sizes to make the process simple. Attach them to the side of a steel building. :)
You also can create an original, live art piece with succulents.
Another option for growing succulents vertically is using a Living Wall Planter from Bright Green. Bright Green sells planters with a moisture mat that keeps watering simple and doesn't require removing the frame from the wall.
