This walk-in wardrobe by Bhuva Construction combines open display shelving on one side with closed cabinets on the other. This creates a calm and organised space that allows favourite pieces to be displayed, with all the other items neatly tucked away.
The bespoke cabinets on the left, which go all the way up to the ceiling, cleverly make the most of every centimetre of space and the addition of a window seat creates a welcoming ‘room’ rather than just a functional wardrobe.

Built out of solid wood, this sleek and spacious wardrobe, designed by Cicerone Group, is situated in a large flat in Valencia that offers beautiful views over the city’s botanical garden. The wardrobe’s large wooden sliding doors are a stand out and reveal a spacious, warm dressing area when opened. The wood also helps define the wardrobe area and separate it from the rest of the bedroom, which has porcelain tile flooring instead.

This custom-made wardrobe is on a mezzanine in a renovated apartment in Rome. The ceiling was so high that it allowed architect Daniele Mennini to plan a small mezzanine over the bed and headboard. Protected with a thin iron balustrade, the result is a lightweight and streamlined walk-through clothes storage set-up. The palette of the closet’s white timber doors and the light-blue headboard and ceiling give the room a fresh feel.

The skinny, shaker-style cabinetry in timeless white in this bedroom from Plot Architecture reflects the easygoing yet sophisticated look that Australians embrace. The aesthetic perfectly captures one of our main decorating themes: casual, yet with just enough detail to anchor a room. It has the ability to work well in both contemporary and historical homes, or homes that have elements of both, as many renovations do.
