Situated along the coastal foreshore of Inverloch surf beach, this 7.4 star energy efficient home represents a lifestyle change for our clients. ‘’The Nest’’, derived from its nestled-among-the-trees feel, is a peaceful dwelling integrated into the beautiful surrounding landscape. Inspired by the quintessential Australian landscape, we used rustic tones of natural wood, grey brickwork and deep eucalyptus in the external palette to create a symbiotic relationship between the built form and nature. The Nest is a home designed to be multi purpose and to facilitate the expansion and contraction of a family household. It integrates users with the external environment both visually and physically, to create a space fully embracive of nature.

In a home with just about 1000 sf our design needed to thoughtful, unlike the recent contractor-grade flip it had recently undergone. For clients who love to cook and entertain we came up with several floor plans and this open layout worked best. We used every inch available to add storage, work surfaces, and even squeezed in a 3/4 bath! Colorful but still soothing, the greens in the kitchen and blues in the bathroom remind us of Big Sur, and the nod to mid-century perfectly suits the home and it's new owners.

Creating a space saving bathroom in this compact apartment. We worked with the contractor to carefully move pipework including the soil pipe to minimise boxing, and gain crucial sqm. We replaced the bath with a walk-in shower, repositioned the WC, added recessed storage and fitted a pocket door – significantly increasing the usable space in the room. A finish of white bathroom tiles, created a light bright finish APM completed project management and interior design throughout the design and build of this apartment renovation in London. One of the focal points of this gorgeous bathroom is the sink. It is a wall-mounted glass console top from Signature Hardware and includes a towel bar. On the sink is mounted a single handle Delta Ashlyn faucet with a chrome finish. Above the sink is a plain-edged mirror and a 3-light vanity light. The shower has a 12" x12" faux marble tile from floor to ceiling and in an offset pattern with a 4" glass mosaic feature strip and a recessed niche with shelf for storage. Shower floor matches the shower wall tile and is 2" x 2". Delta 1700 series faucet in chrome. The shower has a heavy frameless half wall panel. www.melissamannphotography.com
