Home is about creating a sense of place. Little moments add up to a sense of well being, such as looking out at framed views of the garden, or feeling the ocean breeze waft through the house. This connection to place guided the overall design, with the practical requirements to add a bedroom and bathroom quickly ( the client was pregnant!), and in a way that allowed the couple to live at home during the construction. The design also focused on connecting the interior to the backyard while maintaining privacy from nearby neighbors. Sustainability was at the forefront of the project, from choosing green building materials to designing a high-efficiency space. The composite bamboo decking, cork and bamboo flooring, tiles made with recycled content, and cladding made of recycled paper are all examples of durable green materials that have a wonderfully rich tactility to them. This addition was a second phase to the Mar Vista Sustainable Remodel, which took a tear-down home and transformed it into this family's forever home.

This 90's style bathroom was in desperate need of a face lift. The bathroom had a typical built in corner tub, small shower and wrap around vanity area. The client wanted to make the space look larger so we installed bright white wall tile, floating white gloss vanities. We also used lighting behind the tub and under the vanities for mood lighting. This amazing Bain Ultra air jet tub also features chromotherapy light.

An impeccably designed bathroom vanity that exudes modern elegance and simplicity. Dominating the composition is a striking vessel sink crafted from dark stone, sitting atop a counter of richly veined dark quartz. This bold basin acts as a sculptural centerpiece, its organic curves and texture providing a stark contrast to the straight, clean lines that define the space.

Updating a dated master bathroom to make it function better and feel bigger by adding a curb less walk-in shower with glass surround. Staying true to the house 1960's origin, but with a modern twist and a masculine color palette.

El objetivo de la reforma fue conseguir un equilibrio entre el estilo de vida moderno de la pareja respetando el estilo sofisticado de la casa. Las plantas son otro elemento al que no se ha renuncio a la hora de realizar el diseño. Cada cuarto de baño tiene un diseño y una estética variada, refinada y única. Combinando la grifería con acabados negros mate, el porcelánico acabado cemento o materiales de toda la vida como el mármol se mezclan con una estética más industrial. Cada elemento ofrece algo diferente, a la vez que todo se integra con el resto del espacio. El uso de baldosas de porcelánico tanto para el pavimento como revestimientos, combinado con la minimización de las juntas entre piezas y el empotramiento de todas las instalaciones, parte de la grifería y mecanismos, aportan una imagen sencilla, nítida y pétrea al conjunto.
