Rustic and refined, the homeowners wanted a mantle piece over the fireplace that would have some character. They chose to go with a hand hewn beam, not only for the look but as a focal and conversation point as well. Adding textures in this room from the soft paint on the wall, to the medium colored tile, to the hard look of the mantle make the room complete.
