One of the challenges was creating a generous space around the bed. A wide dormer conversion was essential but it needed to look right on the roof of the house. To resolve this, two gable roofs were placed side by side, the space between was set back to give the impression of two dormer windows. Internally the space is one structure, creating additional room around the bed.
