Living room after— The living room was updated by removing a partial wall that leads to the home’s bedroom area. A custom designed entertainment cabinet that hides a flat screen TV and stereo equipment replaced the original bookshelves. The open display shelves showcase the owners prized pottery and family photos. Adding a gas insert and resurfacing the brick with a real stone veneer in a dry-laid pattern contemporized the dated fireplace. The oak floors were refinished with a gray tinted stain and satin finish. j. Nancekivell
