Crugiau House

Catalina Architecture were commissioned to design a well-lit sunroom to this grade II listed property, within the envelope of existing dilapidated outbuildings. Linking to the main house through a part-existing opening at ground floor level, and through what was a cupboard, the physical link is flat-roofed in order that the main glazed/slate roof of the new element would be visually subservient to the existing, and also not detract from the single mass of the house. Contrasting with the low-ceiling, relatively dark rooms of the main house, the new space is bright and airy, providing good views of the garden.
