A Gilmans Kitchens and Baths - Design Build Project (REMMIES Award Winning Kitchen) The original kitchen lacked counter space and seating for the homeowners and their family and friends. It was important for the homeowners to utilize every inch of usable space for storage, function and entertaining, so many organizational inserts were used in the kitchen design. Bamboo cabinets, cork flooring and neolith countertops were used in the design. Storage Solutions include a spice pull-out, towel pull-out, pantry pull outs and lemans corner cabinets. Bifold lift up cabinets were also used for convenience. Special organizational inserts were used in the Pantry cabinets for maximum organization. The backsplash is made from a large slab of fossil stone from Green River Stone Company's private quarry. The area was measured and a template was made, then the stone was fabricated to the exact size required. The stone surface is honed to a smooth matte finish, some of the fossil fish are honed, and some are prepared in relief.

One of my most popular features is a chef's drawer. I introduced this concept over 20 years ago. Combine the drawer faces of the top two drawers and have a deep drawer with a scooped side made. This drawer happens to also be 27"-long so it holds even more! Northlight Photography
