The finished result was custom shelves and storage both exposed and hidden. There is a large picture window centered on this wall. I came up with creating custom bookshelves with storage to bookend both sides. And under the window, filled the space with a deep bench with storage. I measured yoga mats and other workout gear to assure it would fit perfectly when not in use. The window treatments are also new with the wooden shutters to adjust the light during high sun hours. Also good solve to the 2 cats who just love to shread a nice curtain or two.

Stripped of its original charm with sagging floors and water leaks, this 1900 row house was prime for a full renovation. While the staircase and marble fireplace are original, everything from the white oak flooring, crown, applied, and base moldings, to the archways and brass door hardware is new; yet they all feel original to the house. Other projects included removing soffits and tucking away randomly placed support beams and posts, relocating and expanding the kitchen, renovating each bathroom – and adding a new one, upgrading all the mechanical, electric and plumbing systems, removing a fireplace, and regrading the back patio for proper drainage and added greenery. The large open space continues the themes set out in the Living and Dining areas with a similar palette of darker surfaces and finishes, chosen to create an effect that is highly evocative of past centuries, linking new and old with a poetic approach. The dark grey concrete floor is a paired with traditional but luxurious Tadelakt Moroccan plaster, chose for its uneven and natural texture as well as beautiful earthy hues. The supporting structure is exposed and painted in a deep red hue to suggest the different functional areas and create a unique interior which is then reflected on the exterior of the extension.

Modern Dining Room in an open floor plan, sits between the Living Room, Kitchen and Backyard Patio. The modern electric fireplace wall is finished in distressed grey plaster. Modern Dining Room Furniture in Black and white is paired with a sculptural glass chandelier. Floor to ceiling windows and modern sliding glass doors expand the living space to the outdoors.

This original 90’s home was in dire need of a major refresh. The kitchen was totally reimagined and designed to incorporate all of the clients needs from and oversized panel ready Sub Zero, spacious island with prep sink and wine storage, floor to ceiling pantry, endless drawer space, and a marble wall with floating brushed brass shelves with integrated lighting. The powder room cleverly utilized leftover marble from the kitchen to create a custom floating vanity for the powder to great effect. The satin brass wall mounted faucet and patterned wallpaper worked out perfectly. The ensuite was enlarged and totally reinvented. From floor to ceiling book matched Statuario slabs of Laminam, polished nickel hardware, oversized soaker tub, integrated LED mirror, floating shower bench, linear drain, and frameless glass partitions this ensuite spared no luxury. The all new walk-in closet boasts over 100 lineal feet of floor to ceiling storage that is well illuminated and laid out to include a make-up table, luggage storage, 3-way angled mirror, twin islands with drawer storage, shoe and boot shelves for easy access, accessory storage compartments and built-in laundry hampers.

Matte Schrankfronten und glänzende Arbeitsflächen ergänzen sich in der modernen SieMatic-Küche zu einem eleganten Ensemble mit besonderem Flair. In die Wand eingelassene, deckenhohe Schränke bergen hinter grifflosen Großformat-Fronten Platz für Elektrogeräte, Küchenutensilien und Vorräte. Der große Raum wurde stilvoll mit zwei Küchenzeilen und einer mittigen Insel eingerichtet, um den Flügeltüren in den Garten ebenso Platz zu geben wie dem offenen Zugang zum Esszimmer. Dabei wurde eine Zeile als deckenhoch gestaltete Schrankwand konzipiert, in der Küchen-Elektrogeräte modernster Varianten vom Backofen über den Konvektomaten bis hin zu weiterführenden Kühlmöglichkeiten wie dem Getränkekühler mit Glasfront integriert wurden. Die weitere Zeile bietet Stauraum und ergänzende Stellflächen zur praktisch und komfortabel gestalteten Kücheninsel mit den Arbeitsbereichen. Die Kücheninsel wurde geräumig und mittig platziert, wodurch kurze Arbeitswege entstehen. Spülbereich und Kochstelle liegen nah beieinander, erhalten jedoch durch die üppigen Stellflächen viel Bewegungsfreiheit. Für die Erreichbarkeit von Vorräten und Küchenutensilien reicht die Drehung zur Schrankwand, in der zudem die hoch eingebauten Küchengeräte bereitstehen. Die Spüle wurde mit einer eleganten Einhebelmischgarnitur in mattem Schwarz ergänzt, auf Ablaufflächen wurde hingegen verzichtet. Der Kochbereich kommt hingegen mit einem modernen Dunstabzug zum Einsatz, der in das Ceranfeld eingelassen wurde. Glatte Oberflächen mit fließenden Übergängen an Fronten und Arbeitsflächen geben nicht nur optischen Schick, sondern sorgen auch für pflegeleichte Reinigungseigenschaften in der täglichen Nutzung. Als stilvolles Highlight findet sich eine moderne Glasvitrine als Ecklösung, um hübsches Geschirr und Gläser apart und praktisch erreichbar zu machen.

The mood and character of the great room in this open floor plan is beautifully and classically on display. The furniture, away from the walls, and the custom wool area rug add warmth. The soft, subtle draperies frame the windows and fill the volume of the 20' ceilings.

Around the corner in the kitchen, the stained rift sawn walnut is repeated on some of the cabinetry and the vent hood, again providing a warm contrast to the cool white pallet. The porcelain countertops and backsplash are a convincing substitute for Calacatta gold at a fraction of the price and much more durability, and the 2” mitered edge and waterfall sides add luxury. The glass stacks back into the wall and allows seamless access to the home’s stunning outdoor kitchen, dining and lounge.
