BGD&C Custom HomesIn an effort to accommodate family time, as well as provide a highly functional, world-class kitchen we designed an integrated family room and kitchen with enough space for a sizeable breakfast table, a large island with stool seating, and a significant amount of storage and counter space. Special touches included a painted tongue and groove ceiling, O’Brien Harris hand painted cabinetry with pewter hood, walnut countertop inset and quartzite countertops.

STEPHEN FLETCHER ARCHITECTSThe lower ground floor of the house has witnessed the greatest transformation. A series of low-ceiling rooms were knocked-together, excavated by a couple of feet, and extensions constructed to the side and rear.
A large open-plan space has thus been created. The kitchen is located at one end, and overlooks an enlarged lightwell with a new stone stair accessing the front garden; the dining area is located in the centre of the space.

Paula Ables Interiors"After" photo The rectangle of white marble in the island was re-purposed from the former island. It was much needed item for the clients occupation and we loved the green aspect of using something the client already owned.
