The project continued into the Great Room and was an exercise in creating congruent yet unique spaces with their own specific functions for the family. Cozy yet carefully curated.
Refinishing of the floors and beams continued into the Great Room. To add more light, a new window was added and all existing wood window casings and sills were painted white.
Additionally the fireplace received a lime wash treatment and a new reclaimed beam mantle.

Island Cove House keeps a low profile on the horizon. On the driveway side it rambles along like a cottage that grew over time, while on the water side it is more ordered. Weathering shingles and gray-brown trim help the house blend with its surroundings. Heating and cooling are delivered by a geothermal system, and much of the electricity comes from solar panels.

We Feng Shui'ed and designed this cozy Family Room right off the kitchen in this 1930s Colonial in Winchester, MA.
We added this custom Navy built-in to house the client's antique clock collection. Coral accents repeat throughout the home bringing harmony and activating wealth. The black and blue in the room draw Helpful People and Travel to the residents.
The colorful Schumacher fabric ties the color scheme together. We kept the original beams and highlighted them with beadboard and star chandeliers.

Defined spaces within the great room include the living and dining area, wet bar, and eat-in kitchen. This stunning interior space includes a cathedral ceiling, custom-designed, hand-hewn timber trusses, a floor-to-ceiling fieldstone fireplace, and rift and quartered oak flooring.

The interior of this Bucks County home features a modern take on French country and carries the blue and white theme across from the rest of the first floor. To improve circulation, doors at the front became windows. White custom built-ins maximize storage for games and firewood. Heavy wood beams used to weigh this room down but painting them white uplifts the space while retaining the architectural character.
