Houghton-Smith Farmstead

Original center hall, circa 1764. In the 18th century, when the weather was hot, it was not unusual to retreat to the slightly-cooler center hall. Restoration and period color selection were involved here, as was establishing a powder room at the end (right) of the hall. Photo by T. Jeffery Clarke
