Interior View of Screened Porch

We have created an outdoor room which borrows from the rich architectural tradition of the surrounding region. Copper covered barrel vaulted dormers and a half-round window capture views of the sky, while adding light to the “cathedral” interior and, indirectly, to the family room. Siding and colors from the existing house were incorporated into the gabled roof addition, which has defined a focus for the yard and a space for a new brick terrace. The porch extends into the family room with new french doors and sidelights. Small skylights were added to splash light on the family room interior wall. Access to the yard was enhanced with a new set of sliding french doors at the eating area of the kitchen. Photo © Curtis Martin
