This early 90's contemporary home was in need of some major updates and when my clients purchased it they were ready to make it their own. The home features large open rooms, great natural light and stunning views of Lake Washington. These clients love bold vibrant colors and clean modern lines so the goal was to incorporate those in the design without it overwhelming the space. Balance was key. The end goal was for the home to feel open and airy yet warm and inviting. This was achieved by bringing in punches of color to an otherwise white or neutral palate. Texture and visual interest were achieved throughout the house through the use of wallpaper, fabrics, and a few one of a kind artworks. --- Project designed by interior design studio Kimberlee Marie Interiors. They serve the Seattle metro area including Seattle, Bellevue, Kirkland, Medina, Clyde Hill, and Hunts Point. This was the most fun room I have ever done! The client called to update the oldest daughters room as she entered her tween years. We used her white furniture but gave it a fresh, hip look with bold colors of fuschia and turquoise starting with the hanging paper flowers that really popped on the already sunny yellow walls. We had the lamp shade made with custom fabric. I am wild over the paisley patterned quilt with mod scheme of turquoise, fuschia and orange thrown together so freshly over crisp white. These same colors are blended in the horizontal stripe painting over the bed. We changed the desk chair seat fabric to go with the new color scheme, as well as giving the desk new turquoise porcelain knobs. What do you think?? Photos by Robert Peacock

This room was converted from a formal living room (that was never used) to an additional bedroom for kids. Lots of storage was added with custom bookcases and a window seat with drawer storage underneath. Antique brass beds were powder coated blue to match the decor.
