The open plan kitchen with a central moveable island is the perfect place to socialise. With a mix of wooden and zinc worktops, the shaker kitchen in grey tones sits comfortably next to exposed brick works of the chimney breast. The original features of the restored cornicing and floorboards work well with the Smeg fridge and the vintage French dresser.

This large kitchen project includes this bar area for entertaining which offers a pass-through to the dining room. Although the cabinetry matches the rest of the space in wood specie and stain, the door style is slightly different and special hardware was used. The copper countertop and sink was left antiquated and flamed to age naturally for low maintenance. Majestic Imaging Ltd.

Contemporary artist Gustav Klimpt’s “The Kiss” was the inspiration for this 1950’s ranch remodel. The existing living room, dining, kitchen and family room were independent rooms completely separate from each other. Our goal was to create an open grand-room design to accommodate the needs of a couple who love to entertain on a large scale and whose parties revolve around theater and the latest in gourmet cuisine. The kitchen was moved to the end wall so that it became the “stage” for all of the client’s entertaining and daily life’s “productions”. The custom tile mosaic, both at the fireplace and kitchen, inspired by Klimpt, took first place as the focal point. Because of this, we chose the Best by Broan K4236SS for its minimal design, power to vent the 30” Wolf Cooktop and that it offered a seamless flue for the 10’6” high ceiling. The client enjoys the convenient controls and halogen lighting system that the hood offers and cleaning the professional baffle filter system is a breeze since they fit right in the Bosch dishwasher. Finishes & Products:  Beech Slab-Style cabinets with Espresso stained alder accents.  Custom slate and tile mosaic backsplash  Kitchenaid Refrigerator  Dacor wall oven and convection/microwave  Wolf 30” cooktop top  Bamboo Flooring  Custom radius copper eating bar

Amazing Kitchen Upgrade to Old Rambler in Vienna, Va

For this recently moved in military family, their old rambler home offered plenty of area for potential improvement. An entire new kitchen space was designed to create a greater feeling of family warmth. It all started with gutting the old rundown kitchen. The kitchen space was cramped and disconnected from the rest of the main level. There was a large bearing wall separating the living room from the kitchen and the dining room. A structure recessed beam was inserted into the attic space that enabled opening up of the entire main level. A large L-shaped island took over the wall placement giving a big work and storage space for the kitchen. Installed wood flooring matched up with the remaining living space created a continuous seam-less main level. By eliminating a side door and cutting through brick and block back wall, a large picture window was inserted to allow plenty of natural light into the kitchen. Recessed and pendent lights also improved interior lighting. By using offset cabinetry and a carefully selected granite slab to complement each other, a more soothing space was obtained to inspire cooking and entertaining. The fabulous new kitchen was completed with a new French door leading to the sun room. This family is now very happy with the massive transformation, and are happy to join their new community.
