This project is the rebuild of a classic Craftsman bungalow that had been destroyed in a fire. Throughout the design process we balanced the creation of a house that would feel like a true home, to replace the one that had been lost, while managing a budget with challenges from the insurance company, and navigating through a complex approval process.

This modern farmhouse living room features a custom shiplap fireplace by Stonegate Builders, with custom-painted cabinetry by Carver Junk Company. The large rug pattern is mirrored in the handcrafted coffee and end tables, made just for this space.

In the heart of the home, the great room sits under luxurious 20’ ceilings rough hewn cladded cedar crossbeams that bring the outdoors in. A catwalk overlooks the space, which includes a beautiful floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, wood beam ceilings, elegant twin chandeliers, and golf course views.

A relaxing entertainment area becomes a pivot point around an existing two-sided fireplace leading to the stairs to the bedrooms above. A simple walnut mantle was designed to help this transition.

In the living room area, before it was a sunken living room with low ceilings. The fireplace was outdated, and the whole area needed to be updated. We provided all the materials and labor, while our interior design friend Cindy Roberston did a beautiful job finishing the home with the furniture and accessory selections tying everything together.
The fireplace surround is actually a porcelain tile made to look like stacked stone, with a new electric fireplace. Warm wood floating shelves and cabinets to give storage, display items and warm up the space.
