Modern Black and Timber Renovation of a 70's Hamilton Home

Creative use of a structural pillar, anchoring the island in space. Benchtop was shaped around the pillar. The pillar divides the seating from the storage front of the island. Open shelving softens the look.Light oak island cabinets blend well with the original rimu flooring which was sanded and lightened. Black recessed cabinet handles tie the 2 sides of the kitchen together.
