Modern Kitchen in the Forest

Yes, it's beautiful -- but can you cook in this kitchen? Yes yes yes! you can. A couple of noteworthy features that make this kitchen a cook's dream are: (a) steel rollout shelves below the Wolf cooktop. Pots and pans are easy to see, easy to reach, and that steel will still look great no matter how much you bang it up! (b) notice the clean up sink below the window is large and deep to hold large pans and lots of dishes. A prep sink at the island is handy to the cooktop. Two sinks means two work stations in this kitchen so you can have a helper! (c) In the foreground of this photo, notice the steel trim panel around the ice dispenser at the SubZero refrigerator. This is a custom concept I found buried in the details of the SubZero website, and loved it because it keeps drippy water off the wood panels! (d) Warming drawers at the island can be a chef's best friend for so many reasons. I prefer to locate them at the end of the island as either the starting point or the ending point of a buffet. (e) That's a Bosch Kitchen Machine built-in at the island countertop. Bosch doesn't make this built-in version anymore, but they should! AL pick--alternative to all-white kitchen "warm" feel (JK not a big fan of the brown cabinets but could be convinced...)
