Molteni & C Gio Ponti D.156.3 Armchair

The Molteni & C D.156.3 Italian design modern armchair, is part of the Molteni&C Gio Ponti Collection, an exciting project to re-issue furniture created by Giovanni Ponti, the great Twentieth century architect and designer. Originally designed and produced for Altamira, an American company founded by the nephew of the Spaniard De Cuevas, the D.156.3 armchair was displayed in the company’s showroom in New York, along with furniture by Ico Parisi, Franco Albini, Carlo De Carli, Ignazio Gardella and others, chosen from among the most representative exhibitors at the 10th Milan Triennale. Here the D.156.3 armchair, is exclusively remade by Molteni&C, with a solid American walnut, or black semi-matt lacquered frame. It is assembled and sandpapered by hand and wiped with aniline dyes. Comfortable elastic ergonomic seat and back support bands can be selected in either black, or military green. For the non-removable cushion covers you can choose from any of the fabrics and leathers in the Molteni&C textile range, or you can provide your own fabric, subject to approval by Molteni.
