Old World flair , Great room

This room , as my clients decided to call, The Great Room represents an addition to a 5000 square ft stone home. We designed the space to serve as a family gathering as well as a room for entertaining. The vicinity to the exterior swimming pool make it a great location for summer time parties . In the same time a cozy fireplace and radiant heat underneath the stamped concrete floors welcome winter events. The walls are covered with plaster in tones of earth colors. Fragments of old stones , ivy and in some areas wines grapes bring the atmosphere of Tuscany . Murals of topiaries in stone urns flank the French door and a beautiful hand painted lemon tree suggest the mediterranean flair. The ceiling depicts a sky with doves. The choice of furniture style and the custom window treatment sustain the Old World atmosphere .
