Adding an island to your kitchen makes all the difference. The kitchen, being the busiest room in most households, a traditional kitchen island can be used to entertain guests and just to have morning breakfast with your family.

Red Pepper Design & Cabinetry
Even interior designers need help when it comes to designing kitchen cabinetry. Lauren of Lauren Maggio Interiors solicited the help of RED PEPPER for layout and cabinetry design while she selected all of the finishes.
New Orleans classicism and modern color combine to create a warm family space. The kitchen, banquette and dinner table and family room are all one space so cabinets were made to look like furniture. The space must function for a young family of six, which it does, and must hide countertop appliances (behind the doors on the left) and be compatable with entertaining in the large open room. A butler's pantry and scheduling desk connect the kitchen to the dining room.

Canyon Design Build

Raspberry red accent cabinets set off the Herbeau fireclay farm sink and black soapstone countertops, while stained maple wood tops the island's painted and glazed ivory cabinets. The perimeter cabinets feature honed sandstone countertops and the hand-made and hand-painted terra-cotta backsplash tile ties everything together in this eclectic kitchen.
Modern Nest
A bold sense of color grounded with walnut cabinetry makes this space pop. You can see the three dimensional tile here and the army men doing yoga poses.
Renaissance Kitchen and Home
This newly construction Victorian styled Home has an open floor plan and takes advantage of it's spectacular oven view. Hand distressed cabinetry was designed to accommodate an open floor plan.
The large center Island separates the work side of the kitchen but adds visual interest by adding open shelving to the back of the island. The large peninsula bar was added to hide a structural column and divides the great room from the kitchen.

This was a fun re-model with a fun-loving homeowner. Know locally as 'the 50's guy' the homeowner wanted his kitchen to reflect his passion for that decade. Using Northstar appliances from Elmira Stove Works was just the beginning. We complemented the bright red of the appliances with white cabinets and black counters. The homeowner then added the yellow walls and detailed tile work to finish it off. San Luis Kitchen Co.
