Refurbishment and Extension to Victorian Gate Lodge, Tipperary.

DMVF were selected by the purchasers of this dilapidated gate-lodge to advise upon and manage a full restoration & extension project. The lodge is close to Lough Derg, Co. Tipperary. Originally built in the 1860′s, it is the only surviving of three gate lodges which were built for Garrykennedy House. The clients live in America and were seeking a holiday home for their family. The works included for the full restoration of the original house which involved significant remodelling to the original house. Slates, bricks and other materials were salvaged from the original house to be used in the refurbishment and extension. The finished house retains all of the special features of the original Lodge and marries those with all of the benefits of a new build. DMVF are RIAI Grade III Conservation Architects. www.dmvf.ie.
