These clients collect African Art and they wanted their family room to be like a big African hut. The owner bought some real 6 inch bamboo "logs" and had them cut in half and bolted to the ceiling joists to act as supports for the the Faux African hut roof. The walls were textured with plaster that was tinted a ruddy color. An African theme mural was painted all around the room.
