When attempting to knock the wall down separating the kitchen and dining room, we found an old, original fireplace that had been filled in and covered, which we then turned into a beautiful focal point in both rooms. The exposed brick of the fireplace adds an element of earthiness to counterpoint the more contemporary feel of the kitchen, and ties the two distinct spaces together. Photo by Chris Amaral.
