Transitional Living Room & Family Room Interior Design

The clients already had the nice leather sectional, but the room lacked warmth and style. Stan & Andrea Mussman with Mussman Design Associates started by selecting beautiful paint colors for the walls. They kicked it up a notch by using two paint colors instead of the anticipated one. The lighting in this room was lacking, so Sun Tubes were installed. Lighting issue resolved. The space was anchored the moment this very nice area rug was installed. Notice how the throw pillows complement the overall theme. The credenza behind the sectional has lots of storage for the kids toys and school projects. Colorful art and accessories create an elegant backdrop for this very nice family room. The space between the "U" created by the sectional was limited-as were the designer's options-since there needed to be adequate leg room. A custom bench with an attached shelf and bomber jacket leather was designed and is doubling as an ottoman/coffee table. "Interior designers are problem solvers.
