This is the rear focal wall of the basement we finished in Chatham. The box on the left hides the dehumidifier, sump pump and pit. The late 1800's fireplace has been sealed and insulated, painted black, and an added electric line runs the remote controlled 1500 watt heat box. The addition of dry stacked stone and a floating mantle really help to bring this space up to date.
