Updated 1980s Kitchen and Family Room

The family room had previously been expanded with a large sun room to capture the "private park" setting of the adjacent garden. The column was necessary to carry the weight of the second floor above (the only alternative was to install a steel I-beam, adding thousands of dollars to the budget). In the foreground is the end of the peninsula with custom LED strip lighting. The new lyptus flooring blends beautifully with the existing family room cabinets and the new kitchen cabinets. A new L-shaped sofa allows several people to enjoy a fire while watching the flat-screen TV.
