Once the client and I decide we want to work together, the scope of the project is determined including my participation. I quote the client a design fee for doing the design work. As long as there are no change orders or the client decides he/she wants me to do other items, the amount is set and there are no open ended surprises at the end of the project. This is the fairest to both parties and creates a very good client/designer partnership.

We were unexpectedly forced into rebuilding the entire interior of our home due to extensive smoke damage from a fire. With no time to plan, and no talent for design, we do not know how we would have made it through the extensive reconstruction process without Connie's help. Connie gave us a detailed questionnaire to learn our preferences and lifestyle. Then she met with us to review our answers and ask questions about how we used the spaces in our house. Based on her research she created a new floor plan for all three floors, including elevations and full specs for the contractor. During construction Connie acted on our behalf with all of the vendors and contractors to ensure plans were being followed, frequently stopping by to check on progress. As things progressed she provided ideas for adjustments to the plan. She also assisted us in choosing all fixtures, colors, tile, flooring, furniture etc. so that the entire house flows as a fully-coordinated space. We absolutely love the result and highly recommend Connie for any design or decorating job, large or small. She made the difficult process much easier for us, resulting in a beautiful and comfortable home we will enjoy for years.

Connie was the designer on a complete make-over of my master bathroom. She helped flesh out and, most especially, made suggestions and added to my few vague ideas of what I wanted. She is extremely knowledgeable about current trends, styles, as well as what would work (and, just as important, what wouldn't) from a practical standpoint in the space I had. She helped with everything from designing the layout of the room to helping find a contractor, selecting tile, counter top, paint, fixtures, lighting, mirrors, everything! My new master bathroom is beautiful, just what I wanted, and just perfect!

A friend recommended Connie so after reviewing her website and liking what I saw, I gave her a call. She came to our home, listened carefully and went off to create a design for our kitchen remodel. She came back with a thoughtful, detailed and creative solution to a dismal space. She recommended a terrific contractor, came to my aid when I floundered, creatively solved issues as they came up (though there were almost none due to her detailed plan), and created a beautiful and functional space for us. I selected Connie Long as my interior designer after seeing her work on Houzz and meeting with her to see if we would be able to work together. I was immediately impressed with her knowledge, creativity, access to resources, and her attention to detail as well as her professional demeanor and grasp of my likes and taste. In this project Connie worked with me and the contractor to complete the remodel design for a kitchen, two small bathrooms, three closets and a bonus room in my 50's ranch style recently purchased home. In addition she guided the purchase of furnishings for the living and dining area and the placement of all furnishings to optimize the use of space. She has created an interior which blends modern items with traditional ones to update the interior while preserving the ranch character. She is excellent at encouraging her client to stretch beyond her comfort zone in order to imbue modern elements and vibrancy while also considering practicality and the client's personality, and lifestyle. Her follow through is exceptional and her communication is straight forward with timely updates. She has a unique ability integrate and synthesize disparate spaces into a cohesive comfortable and stylish whole. She made small drab rooms look bright and more expansive and enlarged a master bedroom by reconfiguring closets. Various individuals who observed the transformation, including technicians and professionals, remarked about how she has transformed the entire interior of the house.

Connie worked with me to reconfigure one bathroom, renovate two others, and rework two closets affected by the remodeling. She offered a good design for a difficult space, working within the confines of my budget and preferences. Throughout the project, she was knowledgeable, used helpful and cooperative vendors, worked well with the contractor, kept careful records of budget, and was always available for spur of the moment situations. Her eye for color was wonderful. I will definitely call her for another project.
