About Us

Laura Wilmerding brings a wealth of design experience to all of her design projects. Having worked for both House Beautiful and Country Living magazines in New York City, Laura gained a solid understanding of design and developed her sense of style. Laura prides herself in her highly personalized approach to the design process. With her keen eye, creative flare and ability to understand what clients want, she ensures that the design process is positive and enjoyable. Whether it’s a full make-over, or updating a tired room, she takes pride in creating comfortable, sophisticated interiors that express the client’s personality. Laura was a co-founder of The Design Shop, an interior design firm and retail store in Boston. In 2006, she launched Laura Wilmerding Interiors. Her projects vary in style, size and she’s comfortable working with clients of all ages. Projects have included homes in Boston, Nantucket, Chatham and Florida.

Laure was wonderful to work with. She made an overwhelming process very easy. She is respectful of her client's opinions, aesthetics, and budget. I cannot recommend her highly enough. I love the bedroom that she did for me and I will definitely use her again.

I can't say enough good things about Laura. She, singlehandedly, has been instrumental in decorating our home. Aside from being excellent company, she has impeccable taste and she really works with you to identify the best "fit" for the client, rather than for herself. She is extremely professional at all times. She is prompt, organized and reliable. She also is not afraid to give her opinion - which I really appreciate - and yet at the same time is a fabulous listener. I recommend Laura Wilmerding Interiors wholeheartedly.

Laura is a super talented and fresh designer with a clear eye for how to bring out the best in any room. She has helped design several rooms in my both my year round home and a beach vacation home. No project is too big or too small for Laura to handle. She has complete attention to detail and puts the finishing touches on things that put my rooms over the top. Laura is creative, has impeccable taste and makes every room look spectacular. She picks out pieces that you never would, but are perfect for you and your tastes and vision. She is professional, responsive and works well within a set budget and timeline. I would highly recommend Laura to any of my friends and will continue to use her talents in the future.

Laura has been involved in at least 3 projects for us over 5 years; we are currently starting another one with her help. She is a pleasure to work with: always willing to find what you think you want while keeping you from a ghastly mistake, efficient and timely. What could be better?
