Megan Edwards Architects

Megan Edwards Architects (Eng and Edwards Architects) is a small practice specialising in residential architecture. The relationship with our clients is central to each project and our practice. We enjoy tailoring our work to the needs and interests of our clients. Our work is also based on strong relationships with the contractors and suppliers who contribute to make our buildings. Our aim is to imbue our projects with a strong sense of place. We like to identify what is different or enjoyable about a site or context and develop an architecture that engages with and heightens these qualities. We create enjoyable interior and exterior spaces designed to allow people to savour the ordinary activities of life and varying times of the day. During the design process we aim to find an idea or theme, which somehow captures all important aspects of the project. We are committed to becoming aware of the provenance of the materials that go into our buildings. We attempt to create buildings that are efficient both in terms of use of materials and consumption of energy in use. Our work to date has comprised of new houses often in special scenic areas, renovation of significant older houses which result in an integrated aesthetic, and renovation of modest bungalows and villas where a distinction between old and new work is often made. Projects often extend to interior design, furniture and garden design.
