I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine with a Dental Hygiene degree and also from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with an Interior Design degree. Arch Interiors was established over 30 years ago and I have practiced residential interior design for over 25 years. In addition to residential interior design, I have been working as a kitchen and bath designer for the past 16 years.
The colors, the fabrics, the trims, the perfect paint color… everything about the interior design process for your project is exciting. Going to studios with coffee and bag lunch in hand and settling in and spending hours designing and selecting the perfect materials for your room is not work. The interior design process is alot like a great work of fine art, very similar to completing an oil painting. First, a rough charcoal sketch and a carefully chosen color palette. Next, the background, midground, and foreground images are painted. Highlights and lowlights are added to enhance other parts of the painting. Your rooms are “painted” in much the same way. They come alive during this careful process of layering. When we’re done… it’s your own work of fine art.
