Growing up with English, German, and Italian families, Designer Katherine Pisenti was inspired by the styles and traditions of "the olde country" which are reflected in her design style today.
With an Interior Design degree from California Polytechnic, San Luis Obispo, quality training and experience with one of the top interior design firms in the Bay Area , and 25 years as the owner of The Olde Country Interior Design, Lake Tahoe, Katherine has developed an appreciation for an authentic, olde world style. This traditional look is incorporated in to the many Mountain style, Tuscan wine country, Arts and Crafts style, and French country homes that she has provided design services for over the years. In addition, Katherine has worked on a variety of styles over the years ranging from shabby chic to rustic modern, from natural style (incorporating green elements) to sleek contemporary.
The Olde Country has been involved in a host of projects ranging from historic remodels - including an original Julia Morgan designed Arts and Crafts style home, - to some of the most grand lodges and lake front homes seen on the shores of Lake Tahoe.
The Olde Country will be there from beginning to end to provide the services and products necessary to make your project flow smoothly, remain within budget, and turn out beautifully. With a vast collection of unique and unusual resources, The Olde Country incorporates interesting relics such as salvaged weathered woods, rescued architectural delights, lovely antiques and custom designed furniture pieces and accessories to create an unpredictable character and soul in any living space.
