It is little wonder that Rob McEwan, owner of M & M has been kept very busy since starting his business in mid-2017. Rob covers all of the North Shore, Waitakere, Rodney and Kaipara. and is sometimes seen south of the Harbour Bridge. His area is within both the Kaipara District and Auckland Council regions, meaning that Rob has experience in dealing with both organisations. When it comes to project management, Rob brings a unique mix of skills to the table. Rob has a diverse background from dairy farming in Palmerston North, a Bachelor of Arts from Massey University, Policing in Auckland, Finance in London and then back to Auckland as Senior Management within the Wellness Industry. His family has always been involved in the construction and quantity surveying industry and it was a natural fit that he would eventually return to his roots and get involved with construction! The skills and experience learned over these years has developed his passion for bringing together a vision, taking the time to listen and go on an individual journey with his clients to create a personal design and build solution that is as enjoyable and stress-free as possible. Effective communication is one of Rob’s greatest strengths and he sees this as a central theme to achieving positive outcomes and outputs. This belief that communication serves as a foundation for his relationships with his clients and suppliers is vital for success. The ups and occasional downs are all able to be worked on together in partnership. As a renovation specialist, Rob is available and in regular contact to listen, explain, make suggestions, take orders, give orders, listen, listen and listen again! “Trying to coordinate everything yourself can be a tricky dance", explains Rob. "Many locals are choosing to use their equity to upgrade or extend; and in some cases, they’ve decided to turn their holiday home into their permanent home. Our experience allows us to streamline all the different elements, and get the renovation completed with minimal disruption.” His experiences have taught him to surround himself with exceptional people who have the same values and goals and the skills required to get the job done to his high level of satisfaction.
