Obviously, we are very pleased with their work. Ray helped us plan our layout, create the architectural design, select materials and achieve the energy efficiency we were seeking. His skills and knowledge of the building process have led to what we feel is a very successful project. He has been most helpful in guiding us through the many decisions and compromises necessary to get what we want at a price we can afford. “We've had two jobs done by Tom and Bev and been more than pleased with both. The initial job was a remodel of an existing home office/guest room and adjoining bath. Three years later we engaged them again to replace our dilapidated garage with a two story free standing garage/shop and upstairs studio/guest quarters. The latter project has elicited praise from all the neighbors, and many passersby have stopped to inquire who did the work. In both of these instances we were impressed with the professionalism and attention to detail of both Beverly the architect and Tom the builder. Bev really listened to our concerns and worked with us to try out different approaches until we found the design that fit our needs and desires for the space, giving helpful advice and pointing out things that we would not have noticed until too late. She shepherded the project through the permitting and inspection process, making sure that no issues with setback or height restrictions arose. Tom was involved in every phase of the construction, dealing with suppliers and subcontractors as well as keeping us informed with daily email updates on progress made, problems encountered, and what the next step would be. He worked with us to achieve our design goals while staying within budget. Living in a construction zone can be stressful, but Tom's crew were great. The guys take very real pride in what the create. They went about their business with a minimum of mess and were always careful to keep the disruption contained. At the conclusion of the garage job we had an open house and invited the carpentry crew and their families. I would not hesitate to recommend Beverly Thomas LLC for one second and have done so many times.”

“Between 2002 and 2003, Michael Ipsan/Horizon took a small 1,800 square foot circa 1942 farmhouse and integrated an addition that more than tripled the size of the house and resulted in a beautiful contemporary farmhouse, with upgrades to plumbing, electrical, windows and siding in the original part of the house. The integration was seamless and the project came in on-time and on-budget, with wonderful workmanship. While we had retained an architect for the overall design, Michael made many useful suggestions on tweaks to the design that significantly improved the outcome. The kitchen and pantry were recognized by HGTV in their American Home 2005 show, and in 2008 the house was recognized with a spot on the Historic Garden Week in Virginia tour, both testaments to the quality of the construction. We've had other friends who've had nightmare construction projects with other builders; our experience was exactly the opposite. Warranty issues were minor, and Horizon has stood behind the construction even to this day. In the years since it was completed we've been happy to have Michael walk other prospective clients through the house to see what was done, which speaks to our respect for his work and honesty. We can highly recommend Horizon to anyone considering a custom home builder.”

“This husband and wife team were able to bring to life a powder room I had envisioned but couldn’t make happen. I had seen a sink and pedestal on Houzz and Pinterest that I loved but couldn’t find in the states. They were able to duplicate the design at a reasonable cost and pull together the rest of the bathroom for a complete look. Their communication skills are top notch, their employees were there when they said they’d be there, always neat and cleaning up as they went along.”

“My Wife and I chose to hire C&D Company when we purchased our new home in DC in February 2015. The house was built in 1937 and was never renovated up until 2015 so we had to go through a full renovation of the entire house including the basement and the backyard to bring it up to today's standard of living. We consulted friends and family and C&D came with the highest amount of recommendations and when we contacted them, we found Dago to be very responsive and thorough during the interview, budget and contract process. This also continued during the actual construction, they managed to complete the renovation on time and with high quality of work. The team is very professional and also considerate of the neighborhood and so naturally we received complements from our neighbors on the same. Now, its almost two years since completion of the initial project and Dago is still helping us with any issues that come up at the house periodically. We will certainly recommend him to our friends and family and will consider him for our future projects!”

“Two Brothers Handyman Service did a phenomenal job on our master bath remodel and built-in floor to ceiling bookshelves in our family room. They are extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of construction and very easy to work with. They communicated with us throughout the project and kept us informed at every step. Additionally, they provided expert design advice and brought multiple rounds of samples to our home. They completed the work on time and on budget. I will use them for all of my home renovation projects and highly recommend them.”
