I am very happy with our finished kitchen.
The designer was very patient and took time to design a large pantry which had space for everything. I hadn't thought much about the layout of the pantry but she was focused on making the kitchen as functional as possible. She created lots of storage space including a special shelf for our microwave.
The team were patient with me as I changed the colour scheme and door profiles a number of times.
The kitchen install was completed on time.

All About Kitchens and Bathrooms was one of three companies we asked to come in to quote for a completely new kitchen. We chose them as we liked how they worked with us so we got what we wanted within our budget. They took on board our changes and nothing seemed to small or trivial to discuss. We were given timelines and deadlines which meant we could arrange our days well in advance so we could make sure someone was at home during the fit-out. Their team of workers were professional and efficient, and cleaned up afterwards. We totally recommend contacting Wayne, Megan and their team if you are after a new kitchen.

unbeknownst to us, our Kitchen bench was a very difficult shape with lots of obstacles. We did most of the kitchen ourselves but decided to get a professional to do the bench. Due to the difficult shape and bay window a lot of the joins had to be done on sight as it could not be pre made. This process was explained very clearly to us. Also not being a new build we had to deal with wonky existing walls and windows which was also explained clearly to us. The team were professional, friendly and polite and after a few initial hiccups the final product is fabulous.

We used this company to do a refit of our en-suite. We found them so easy to deal with. They turned up when they said they would, worked quietly and efficiently the whole time, in fact we hardly noticed they were there. They explained in detail the project and kept us informed every step of the way. The finish was perfect, and well within the estimate and timeframe given. We are so pleased with the final result and would have no hesitation in recommending them.

From my first interaction with Megan at All About Kitchens and Bathrooms I knew that they were the project managers that could assist with my renovation project and incidentally had been recommended to use by a colleague.
Wayne came and gave me an idea of the work that could be done to achieve what I was after in my renovation project which included knocking down walls, electrical work , building work and also the installing of the new kitchen itself which included painting and tiling. Wayne then produced a high quality design for me that showed what the finished kitchen would look like. By this stage I knew that I would be getting a great kitchen to a design that I had not even contemplated could be achieved or one that I had even considered.
I found Wayne and his team of trades people to be most accommodating throughout the whole project from start to finish. They always arrived on time and sometimes even early which these days isn't always the case when you are waiting for work men to turn up so I applaud them for that. The guys worked extremely hard the entire time to get the job completed to deadline.
I did find some hiccups along the way which I did expect from an old Lockwood home. I never anticipated that we could not drill straight down through the ceiling for the electrical work and that there would be a great big beam blocking the path for the wiring. I never estimated how long the electrical work would take and the electrician and his apprentice even gave up a Saturday to finish off the work. In fact the electrician was great as he even noticed whilst he was in my loft that my DVS system did not have an air filter on it and as he is a qualified agent for DVS he was able to get me one and install it for me - another problem solved!
In reality my kitchen renovation did take longer than forecast and I was totally informed about this every step of the way, it was no sudden shock or surprise and Wayne communicated everything to me as progression was made about any issues that had cropped up unexpectedly. As a matter of fact I found communication to be excellent throughout the whole experience and Wayne kept in constant contact keeping me in the loop as things proceeded. To give everyone involved credit where it is due the work was still finished in just over two weeks so still a great turn around with minimal disruption for me.
I did go slightly over my budget but then having built a new house build myself in the past I knew that this would happen as hidden costs always occur along with unpredictable findings to cater for. Projects can never be fully quoted only approx figures can be given which I was given and they were not too far off what I paid in the end. So no unrealistic prices has been given even when a Saturday has been worked.
I am extremely delighted with my new kitchen, the whole area has been amazingly transformed and the end result is simply wonderful with great utilization of extra space and natural light.
I wouldn't hesitate to use Wayne, Megan and their team of designers and sub contractors again.

We had a new kitchen installed through All About Kitchens, and used the subcontractors that were recommended by Wayne. The planning and design stage went smoothly and we found all staff very helpful with plenty of ideas and cost options available. However our experience went progressively downhill after this stage. In general we found the communication severely lacking and became increasingly concerned that we were not going to receive the service we were led to believe we would receive. The most concerning issues we think others need to be aware of include:
•We were quoted approximately 12-15 hours of subcontractor work in our contract but the total amount we were ultimately invoiced was double (28.5 hours). Later discussions with Wayne indicated that the approximate hours in the contract were a best case scenario (we were later told old houses can cost more) and only covered some of the work. This was surprising because the scope of the work to be done was agreed beforehand and Wayne had inspected our kitchen. We would not have used All About Kitchen’s subcontractors if we hadn’t been given such a misleading estimate of hours.
•We discovered that All About Kitchens charged a mark-up on the materials supplied by the subcontractors. This additional charge was not in our contract and at no stage were we told of this charge. In some cases the total cost for electrical materials came to 300% that charged to the subcontractor. We sent our quotes to other electricians, one of which said the invoice was “out of this world and into the next galaxy.”
•All about kitchens were terrible at organising and communicating subcontractors’ schedules. We were given incorrect dates for the install and subcontractors. We were initially understanding (everyone makes mistakes) and managed to reschedule things around a new install date (such as our work schedules), however we continued to encounter numerous and substantial issues with the plans as the work progressed, e.g. subcontractors turning up without warning. This is the worst experience we have had with tradies and made the project much more disruptive that it should have been.
•When we raised our concerns with All About Kitchens, their response was to point to a clause in the contract stating that “All About Kitchens will not enter disputes”. After seeking advice on our consumer rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act and Fair Trading Act we discovered that the contract supplied by All About Kitchens contains illegal and/or misleading clauses.
After raising the above issues with All About Kitchens, we found the response defensive, condescending and unreasonable. In the end we were able to reach agreement and negotiate a final price which, while still substantially above our budget, reflected a much fairer cost. Unfortunately, we were only able to negotiate after notifying All About Kitchens that we planned on filing a complaint with the Disputes Tribunal.
As a general comment about service, while our initial contact was great, we were surprised that we were never contacted to ask whether we were happy with the final product or for any other reason (this was before we entered into dispute). The one positive piece of feedback that we can give is that we are mostly happy with the final product.
We would absolutely not recommend the company to anyone for any service, and would caution anyone deciding to sign a contract with them to first ensure that they read the contract carefully, and ensure that anything that is unclear in the contract itself is explained in written form.

Comment from All About Kitchens and Bathrooms:
All About Kitchens and Bathrooms has been trading for 18.5 years and have had hundreds of happy clients over this time who are proud of their renovation and are happy to pay for this and the service they receive. It is unfortunate that Sam and Natalie feel this way about All About Kitchens and Bathrooms as a company and that we have been unable to see their finished kitchen with the flooring etc completed this is due to the threatening phone calls and emails from Sam and we do not feel it would be a good idea to try and attempt this.
Initially All About Kitchens and Bathrooms was contacted in February 2019 by Natalie via our website enquiry form. Natalie had been referred to our website by a happy client who was more than happy to refer All About Kitchens and Bathrooms. Natalie explained that they were requiring a quote to take to the bank for finance. Natalie was given the option of either paying $80 (which is refunded if the project goes ahead with All About Kitchens and Bathrooms) for us to come to site and discuss what it is that she was wanting to achieve and what her budget would be. Our other option is to bring in a plan with some photos of the space and we will look at things from there.
Natalie chose the option of bringing in her plans to us and we discussed her kitchen from these. Over the next few months we worked with Natalie on the concept and pricing options that she wanted. In June 2019 Natalie decided on her final concept and finishes for the bench top, fittings, and unit colour, a proposal was drawn up and presented to Natalie in the showroom along with a copy of our terms and conditions. Natalie took this away to discuss with Sam. All About Kitchens and Bathrooms proposals always include: Kitchen Fittings and Specifications, copies of the new kitchen layout, any extra accessories e.g. bins, pull outs etc, the investment price of the kitchen and bench top which is a fixed price. The proposal also clearly states any exclusions from the fixed kitchen price which in Sam and Natalie’s case were: Painting, flooring, hot water system, gas work, tiling, electrical, plumbing, building, lighting and installation of appliances. We have an hourly charge out rate for all our contractors which is clearly stated on the proposal also. The sub-contractor hours that Natalie and Sam were given were an approximation only. After thoroughly going over All About Kitchens and Bathrooms proposal and terms and conditions Natalie came back with 2 questions with regards to the terms and conditions that she required answers to, once she had these answers, she was happy and signed the proposal and the terms and conditions.
From here our process is a final site measure which was conducted by Wayne then a schedule of works is drawn up and this is sent to all the sub-contractors involved and the client. Natalie was emailed initial disconnection dates on the 3rdJuly 2019 as Sam and Natalie were wanting to do some of the building work themselves. On the 11th July 2019 Natalie was emailed the schedule of all the dates that the sub-contractors were coming in, at no time did this schedule change, we do not ask that clients take time off work unless they choose to, if they are happy to leave a key with us this is what we would use. With the schedule sent we would assume that Natalie and Sam would put the dates into their diaries.
On the 15th July 2019 while our sub-contractors were onsite Natalie asked the plumber to replace the waste pipe to the gully trap that had been leaking for several years under the house. This was is not part of their kitchen installation or allowed for in the approximated hours this extra work took approximately an extra 4 hours for the plumber as he had to lift up the floor, get under the house, replace the waste pipe and then screw the floor back down again. Also not included in Natalie and Sam’s approximated sub-contractor hours was the installation of the new appliances that they had supplied themselves.
All About Kitchens and Bathrooms is a small business and we do add a small mark up to our materials, but it is most definitely not the 300% that Sam has mentioned we are unsure where he has got this figure from
As a general comment Natalie and Sam received a top-quality kitchen from All About Kitchens and Bathrooms, they had the option of supplying their own Sub-contractors which they chose not to. All About Kitchens and Bathrooms has obviously entered discussions with Sam as they only paid the agreed fixed price for the kitchen and the cost price of our sub-contractor materials so have in fact received a great deal and yet they are still unhappy. Natalie and Sam did not make the final payment until we discussed the extra work that Natalie and asked the plumber to do on the 15th July 2019. Which it seems they neglected to tell us of this, also they have a sloped ceiling requiring that the cowling had to be cut on an angle so the extractor could be installed. In reality the extra hours were justified and the job was complete.
In summary, the client indicated a high % of overruns, in fact looking at the total job cost and the actual end bill charged the overrun was only 2.5% more in total for the entire job that we had supplied with the approximated hours given.
