Christine Hawthorn is the principal designer at Hawthorn Landscape Architects and has 23 years experience as a landscape architect. She specialises in coastal lifestyle developments for private residences, quality subdivisions and exclusive resorts and lodges. Working extensively in the Northland, Whangarei and Auckland areas during this time Christine has accumulated the skills and experience for working on large-scale projects as part of a group of specialist consultants. Christine has a passion for creating a special connection between the outdoor and indoor living environments to produce the most aesthetically pleasing spaces for her clients to enjoy. Christine is very knowledgeable about what will grow well and flourish on any particular site. Christie’s landscape planting and design philosophy is to use a combination of native and exotic plants that provide year round interest. Waterfalls, ponds or water sculptures and local stone feature in many of Christine’s designs. Christine provides conceptual design through to detailed working drawings and will project manage the development to ensure her vision is realized. As a qualified Landscape Architect Christine can prepare Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment reports and assist as an expert witness at Council Hearings. She has prepared numerous reports and appeared at hearings in support of a range of projects including marina developments, subdivisions, houses in sensitive areas, resorts, retirement villages, service stations, and shopping centers.
