Paul and the Alpha 1 Builders team were awesome to deal with.. professional, honest, timely and had good communication. We’ve now entrusted Paul with both minor and major work on our home and will be our first call for any future work.

We engaged Alpha 1 Builders to undertake a significant (complete) overhaul of our 1920's bungalow and extension in Mt Albert. Alpha 1 impressed us from our first meeting. Paul was attentive and friendly and struck us as being genuinely interested in working with us to get the best outcome. As part of his pricing he demonstrated his attention to detail, eking out dozens of details we hadn’t even considered, and bringing through many of his proposed local subtrades to help with accurate pricing and giving us a chance to meet the team. The whole team are a very easy bunch of guys to like. They all care about what they do. Paul is very quality focussed and wants to ensure great outcomes. Very open and down to earth – easy to communicate with. We loved working with Foreman Mike as well. Got to know him well over the project and enjoyed all interactions. We loved how the guys are always looking for ways to do things smarter or achieve better outcomes. This ranged from material substitutions (architects often spec the “best” items) such as painted shiplap pine rather than cedar to save $$$ and require less maintenance, to details on interfaces that were overlooked on plans and required early discussion while there was opportunity for modification/clarification. They don’t just ‘do’, they think about what they are trying to achieve. Overall, we were very impressed with the quality of work and attention to detail, particularly with the finishing touches. Our friends recommended Alpha 1 after their own renovation was completed, and we will be doing the same. Paul, Devon, and our lead builder Marc, were tasked with giving our weatherboard home a complete makeover. We had a dream of creating a modern city fringe sanctuary, and they made it happen! We loved that Alpha 1 was interested in our project as it was not the usual Mt Albert character home renovation that they usually take on. The team problem-solved, used creative approaches, and were organised and reliable throughout. They worked cohesively with the designer when changes were needed, and kept us in the loop across the project. The building team really cared about our property and the results they were achieving for our family. They took on our unique vision, and did so with enthusiasm. What really touched our hearts was their passion and care for our project. When we faced some family emergencies halfway through the build, we could trust their decisions and actions completely. They were there for us when we needed them the most. Bottom line is that we were back in our newly renovated home on time and within our budget. Alpha 1 builders have been so great to deal with during our renovation and bathroom works. Offering us lots of advice along the way, which is very reassuring. Everything was timelined and budgeted and agreed upon before work commenced so we knew exactly what was happening when. All of the subtrades were managed for us taking the stress out of it. They have fantastic sub-trades and builders, all very experienced, reliable, and, knowledgable. We are so happy to have found a local Mount Albert based building company that we can call on and recommend to our friends and family. From the first job costing to the last sweep of the floor, Alpha 1 did an amazing job. On time and on budget. A great, friendly, knowledgeable, and able team. A most pleasant experience.

We couldn't recommend Alpha One more. From consultation through to completion we were always well informed and kept in the loop. Our renovation took place in our living area and we remained in our house- tricky when builders turn up early and you have three kids! However I could not fault the guys, they were so great at working around us and patient with the inquisitive kids The quality of workmanship is exceptional and we are so very happy. Alpha 1 Builders have undertaken a number of projects at my villa in Ponsonby over the last few years. Most recently we have reconfigured our kitchen/lounge/dining & entertaining spaces. The team have fantastic communication & offer guidance, which is very reassuring when making such big decisions. The Alpha a team were working across the road from me on a big bungalow renovation where I reached out to ask if they would be interested in repairing my back deck which was partially rotten. I was impressed by their no job to small mentality. The team on the job carried out an excellent repair. They were professional, clean and tidy and of course really nice to deal with. Paul and his team were called in at short notice to undertake the repair and restoration of the exterior of our 100-year-old weatherboard bungalow in Mt Albert at the recommendation of our painters. We were really impressed with Paul’s communication at the outset of the project and with the ongoing communication from the team on site. Alpha1 are not just builders but craftsmen who took pride in their work and made many clever suggestions about how to fix and restore parts of the house in keeping with its character. The team was courteous and respectful on site, which makes a big difference when your family home has become a construction site. Paul helped us with the planning, building, and certification process for a bedroom reno, adding a new ensuite, and replacing an old porch. He was invaluable managing the project and keeping us in the loop advising when we needed to make decisions for each part of the process. His builders (and other trades) were prompt, friendly, and considerate. We are very, very happy with the fabulous finish we have.
