Mount unit on wall or add legs to raise it, a nest of coffee tables, fabulous movie posters, all big stores like Freedom and Temple and Webster have sales on at the moment, you can shop movie posters online, add some more throw cushions to add a bit more comfort.
My first thought is that the TV is mounted too high especially in a small space, it would be better standing on the unit?
How High Should You Mount Your TV? For the best viewing experience, experts recommend you should mount your TV at eye level while seated. For the average person, this means the center of your screen should be 42 inches from the floor.30 May 2023
Yeah we wanted it much lower but unfortunately our PowerPoint got in the way of the wall Mount so we had to go higher it was the only option, or to go lower which would’ve been way too low
That would’ve required an electrician to come through and we already had the guy here ready to mount the tv. It’s not as high as it looks this is how it looks from my view when I sit. That’s not an issue to us anyway. I just wanted advice on decor
You could add a tray with some whisky glasses and napkins. Make it practical. Somewhere to put remote. You have a lovely cabinet it just needs to be raised to ensure it is the feature. This will reduce the gap between tv and cabinet addressing tv height constraint. If you didn’t have the a/c there I would have said paint wall dark. If you could also paint a/c them do that. You could put a small trailing plant on the cabinet. But really if you think the room needs something at front I would do all this on coffee tables.
Sorry the elephant in the room is the height the TV is mounted putting legs on the cabinet won't fix that, i Try standing the TV directly onto the cabinet.
Did you consider standing it on the cabinet, you don't need an electrician for that. I'am waiting for someone to suggest you build a platform under the lounge to bring that height up as well, I have a terrible sense of humor, sorry, enjoy your room
It is just my opinion and I believe in what I have suggested to get the basics right first. but you must do what works for you and your family, good luck with your Media room looking forward to seeing what you do.
If you read my comments many of us including myself agreed tv height could be lower and is preferred. However, it’s now mounted and putting it on the tv unit is not what we’d like to do. If I wanted advice on it I would’ve asked. You voiced your opinion enough times that it became irritating. Learn to draw the line between voicing your opinions and then being a little too pushy and borderline annoying (being a Karen).
Opinions are given in good faith when you ask for help/opinions on Houzz, and in my experience Decor covers what is placed within a room, it is always your decision as to what you choose to take away for it
When I’ve repeatedly said the TV placement does not bother us… and you keep trying to talk about it.. don’t you think it’s a little bit pushy? Nothing can be done can’t be done won’t be done like get the point already? Seriously… I appreciated it when mentioned the first few times multiple people suggesting it… but you’re just condescending after awhile
