I have a new sofa and now looking for ways to rearrange my floating shelves. The existing shelves were put in when we had other cupboards there previously.
Happy to buy more shelves or start fresh with different length etc.
They look okay. But I would move your lounge to the left and away from the wall. Tall people will hit there head on the shelving. Or remove the shelving completely and have a large artwork on that wall.
Floating shelves are hard to do. They work best when anchored with other architectural details ie within a nook, adjacent to cabinetry, over furniture. I agree with moving your sofa to the left, and we need a wider view of the room to see what features there are to align the shelves with. Examples below where there is alignment.
Thanks for the suggestion 🙏 unfortunately I can’t move the couch to the left because it would block the walk way into the kitchen, plus the TV is already off center as it is :( Moving it to the left will make it off center even further
Love your sofa, a few ideas for your shelves, you could stagger them or have one continuous shelf or just add a large artwork to the space next to your existing shelves.
